Your puppy used to race to you whenever you called but now takes off for entertainment elsewhere. And your newly adopted dog gives you that “You talkin’ to me?” look. No matter how often you call, they seem to have important business elsewhere, while you stand helpless and anxious with a cookie in your hand. Sound familiar? It doesn’t have to be that way. Using classical conditioning to tap into your dog’s “respond without thinking” brain and a structured, double-recall approach, this class aims to teach your dog that leaving their dog world and engaging with the human world is the most rewarding thing in their universe, even if there’s a squirrel reunion in your yard. Success will depend on your commitment to work with your dog for at least five minutes, three times a day.
